A few hours after the interview I returned to the O2 Academy in Liverpool to see Walk The Moon rock the place with support from the fabulous Colony House, the queue snaked round the building and the room was buzzing with excitement. The venue itself was a great one, with a great view of the stage and really friendly staff. The show was brilliant, with both acts giving a brilliant, high-energy show that sent the crowd crazy.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you must have heard the song ‘Shut Up and Dance’, I caught up with the guys behind the hit before their show at the O2 Academy Liverpool. Nicholas Petricca, Kevin Ray, Eli Maiman and Sean Waugaman make up Walk The Moon, an alternative rock band from Cinncinati, Ohio. They talked about using their platform to affect positive change, what they want to achieve and their fondest musical moments.
It took me about 10 seconds to fall in love with this 5-piece rock band. ‘Speak Softly’ jumps so quickly into the music that I nearly fell off my chair, but it grabbed my attention and kept it. The band are touring with Secrets, Palisades and Too Close To Touch later this month and took the time to answer some of my questions.
If you’re a diehard Twenty One Pilots fan then you’ve probably heard of Reel Bear Media, a production company started by Mark Eshleman; the man behind the camera. He’s responsible for some of my favourite videos (including an insane live video of Fall Away by Twenty One Pilots ft Dr Blum that I can never stop watching, and pretty much everything he’s been involved in now that I think about it). Mark took the time to answer some questions about his favourite project, how he got into directing and photography.
