Jesse Rutherford, singer of The Neighbourhood, drops his debut major label solo album ‘&’ and it’s as beautifully odd as you would expect. Any fan of The Neighbourhood knows that their sound is eclectic and exciting; they explore and combine a range of genres creating an original and exciting sound. In this solo venture, Jesse demonstrates his own style bringing in sounds from pop, electronic and rap.
Electronic trio Chase Atlantic have just released their debut self-titled album and it is amazing. The three boys from Australia took the time to talk to me about what this album means to them, the hardest track to play and their fans.
Broadside’s new album ‘Paradise’ pushes the boundaries of genre. When I spoke to the band earlier this year, they suggested that this album would show Broadside in a new light and they weren’t wrong. The album features songs that wouldn’t have been out of place on ‘Old Bones’ and other songs that could easily be on mainstream radio. ‘Paradise’ has something for everyone, if you haven’t heard Broadside yet then I recommend you change that.

‘Digital Druglord’ has been a highly anticipated album from the independent artist Blackbear. With his side project of mansionz releasing their first album, Blackbear has been pretty busy in the music industry recently and all the hard work has seemed to pay off. Although, a lot of the album is similar to previous songs of his, there is still an evolution in this album where you hear things a little different to what you might expect.
Kenneth Harris doesn’t seem to stop, I caught up with him days before the birth of his first child, not long after finishing co-writes and just before a bunch of live shows with Panic! At The Disco as their touring guitarist. And in between all these other projects, Kenny somehow finds time for his own music having released his second album ‘Will U B Minor?’ late last year. We talked about the album, his inspiration and juggling all the projects he’s involved in.
2015 has been a vital year for this blog. Despite only beginning to post here in July it’s presented some amazing opportunities and 2016 is set to only get better.
‘Young Blood’ is the debut album from Saint Raymond, aka Callum Burrows from Nottingham. There are quite a few brilliant artists coming from Nottingham right now (Amber Run instantly spring to mind) and Saint Raymond is no different; I have fallen in love.
