Twenty One Pilots’ Vessel turns 4 today. This was their first major label album and marked the beginning of their US rise. Singles ‘Car Radio’ and ‘Holding On To You’ caught the attention of US radio stations and captured the hearts of fans all over the world with their relatable lyrics.
It has been a rumour for a while that twenty one pilots would feature as part of a major movie soundtrack – and here it is. Their new track ‘Heathens’ joins the likes of Panic! At The Disco, Eminem and Imagine Dragons on the Suicide Squad Soundtrack and they just dropped an amazing music video for the first single from the soundtrack.
If you missed twenty one pilots on their recent UK tour then you’re in luck, they’ve announced three exclusive UK cinema showings of Blurryface Live. The tickets are free and released through an online lottery, so sign up now for a chance to win.
It’s no secret that I love Twenty One Pilots. But this show blew me away, last time I was surrounded by tall people and couldn’t see much, this time I was sat in the balcony with a perfect view and I don’t think life could ever get better. As usual the O2 Academy Birmingham was lovely, the staff were incredibly friendly and the security guards did a fantastic job of looking after the crowd.
Panic! At The Disco helped end 2015 on a high note by releasing yet another song from their upcoming album ‘Death Of A Bachelor’. ‘Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time’ is high-energy perfection, you won’t be able to stop yourself from dancing along to this song and before you know it you’ll be singing along too.
This was unlike any concert I have ever been to, there was an electric energy in the air that kept everyone on edge in the best of ways. I’ve never danced for so long in my life, and didn’t know that I was physically capable of it (and the aches and pains that followed would say that I’m really not). Every single person in that room enjoyed the show and were emotionally invested in the whole thing, as someone who’d been queuing since 11:30 finally getting into the venue was insane.
Pop-rock band, Against The Current, have just released their first single ‘Outsider’ with Fueled By Ramen. As I’m sure some of you have gathered, Fueled By Ramen (alongside DCD2) is my favourite label, signing some of the best artists around and they haven’t disappointed. ‘Outsiders’ will grab your attention from beginning to end and is definitely a brilliant start to what I’m sure will be a brilliant career for this band.
The band, Panic! At The Disco, recently celebrated 10 years since the release of their debut album ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’, despite the fact they weren’t even out of college they gave us an album that helped shape the sound of pop-punk today. 10 years later, after members leaving and sounds evolving, Panic! are still making brilliant music. They released a third song from the yet-to-be-released fifth album; their new single ‘Victorious’.
Although this album may not be a brand new release, I couldn’t not write a review. For some strange reason I have only just discovered the brilliance of Twenty One Pilots, I’m just glad I finally have because they really are amazing. Quirky and individual, their sound stands out from others and really can’t be labelled. There isn’t anyone, as far as I know, making music like this. I feel it’s my duty to make sure as many people as possible listen to their music, it’s something you can’t miss out on. Continue reading “Blurryface – Twenty One Pilots”
I stumbled across Panic! At The Disco early this year and honestly can’t believe I hadn’t listened to them before. Since then I’ve listened to all their albums and fallen in love with their individual style and clever lyrics. Continue reading “Hallelujah – Panic! At The Disco”
